Does your Vector feel difficult to charge? In nearly all cases, there is no issue with the actual firearm. Keep in mind that the Vector's action is different compared to other firearms on the market.
Correct Grip
When charging the Vector, whether you use an underhand or overhand grip on the charging handle, make sure that your hand is as close to the receiver as possible.
If your hand is not close to the receiver, when you pull back on the charging handle you are applying an angular force instead of pulling the bolt directly to the rear, which will increase the effort required to charge your Vector.
Magazine
We recommend that the Vector be loaded with the bolt locked to the rear. When you insert a magazine loaded to full capacity into the Vector with the bolt forward, the top of the first round in the magazine will be pressed tightly against the bolt.
You will need to overcome this increased friction, which results in more effort required to charge your Vector.
You can certainly still load the Vector with the bolt forward, just bear in mind the increased effort required to charge.
Lubrication
You can try adding a few drops of lubricating oil to the slider's guide rod and spring, as well as the tracks in the receiver that the slider and bolt ride within.
Check For Correct Installation & Damage
Check the charging handle assembly and the bolt and slider assembly for damage.
If you had previously removed the bolt and slider assembly from the receiver, make sure that it was reinstalled correctly. If the bolt and the slider are installed into the incorrect tracks, you will damage your Vector.
Service
If you still feel that there is a hardware fault with your Vector, please contact us for service. We would be more than happy to inspect your Vector.
Bear in mind, in nearly all cases where the Vector is submitted for service for a "hard charging" issue, our gunsmith team finds that no remedial service is required.
